Fort Bend County Texas Bail Bonds Lawyer

I am David Hunter, an experienced Texas bail bonds lawyer and former Texas judge. I represent clients accused of misdemeanor and felony crimes in Fort Bend County, Texas.

When someone is arrested, the Court generally has two choices in cases where bail is an option. It can release the accused on his or her own recognizance or require the posting of bail. In some cases where the bond amount is too high, we can persuade the Court to lower the amount.

Making Bail in Fort Bend Counties

In most situations, the quickest way to get someone out of jail is by posting bail, which can be done in two ways:

You can post the entire amount of the bond in cash yourself. However, the County retains a small administrative fee, and it may take awhile to get your money back after the case is resolved. If the accused fails to show up in court, you will lose all of your bail money.

The second and most common way is using a professional bondsman. The bondsman has entered an agreement with the County that guarantees the appearance of the accused at all future court dates. The bondsman charges a fee for his services.

In Fort Bend County, I recommend Bill Benton at ABC Bonding, who offers a discount to my clients.

ABC Bonding is located across the street from the jail at 1612 Williams Way Blvd. If you call ABC Bonding at 281-342-2728 before you arrive, everything is generally ready by the time you get there. You must also be able to show a valid Texas Driver’s License or Identification Card

It Is My Job As An Attorney To Fight For Your Rights

There are two ways to post bail in a Fort Bend drinking and driving case. The first option is to post the entire bail amount in cash. However, this isn’t an option for many individuals, and for those who can afford it, it can take quite some time to have the bail amount refunded from the county once the case is resolved. The second option is to use a professional bail bond firm. Bail bond firms enter an agreement with the county to guarantee a criminal suspect’s appearance at all future court dates. These firms post bail on the driver’s behalf and charge a fee for the service.

Actions After Charges

There are several pressing concerns after a Fort Bend drunk driving arrest – for example, the motorist has only 15 days from the date of the arrest to request an Administrative License Revocation (ALR) hearing or risk automatic suspension of the driver’s license – but getting out of jail is almost always the most urgent issue. An experienced Fort Bend DWI / DUI defense lawyer can help with every aspect of a Texas drunk driving arrest, including securing the driver’s release from jail and crafting a proven DWI defense strategy designed to protect the driver’s rights and aggressively fight the drinking and driving charges. The stakes are extraordinarily high in a driving while intoxicated case, so it’s critical to have an experienced DWI trial attorney at the driver’s side. Fort Bend DWI defense lawyer David Hunter has the knowledge and experience needed to effectively fight a driving under the influence charge and minimize or even eliminate the repercussions.
