Ft. Bend County, Texas Bail Bond Attorney David Hunter

I am David Hunter, a former Texas judge and an experienced bail bond attorney, and I represent clients accused of misdemeanor and felony crimes in Harris County, Texas and Ft. Bend County, Texas. If a family member or a loved one has been arrested and is in custody, you probably want to get them out of jail. The accused usually wants to get out jail for obvious reasons. However, by being free, the accused is in a much better position to fight their charges.

When someone is arrested, the Court generally has two choices in cases where bail is an option. It can release the accused on his or her own recognizance (a personal recognizance bond or PR Bond), or it can require the posting of bail. In some cases where the bond amount is too high, we are successful in persuading the Court to lower the amount of the bail bond. As your attorney, I strive to protect your freedoms and rights.

Call David Hunter, experienced Texas bail bond attorney, at 281-265-1515 for a free phone consultation. I can explain the process of making or posting bail and discuss how I may be able to help.

Posting Bail or Making Bond

In most situations, the quickest way to get someone out of jail is by posting bail. Posting bail can be done in two ways. You can always post the entire amount of the bond in cash yourself, but be advised that the County keeps a small administrative fee and that it may take awhile to get your money back from the County after your case is resolved. If the accused person fails to show up in court, you will lose all of your bail money.

The second, and most common way of posting bail, is to use a professional bondsman. The bondsman has entered an agreement with the County whereby he guarantees the appearance of the accused at all future court dates. The bondsman charges a fee for his services. Over the years, my clients have used all of the local bondsman with few problems.
