Making Bond or Posting Bail in Ft. Bend County TexasI am David Hunter, an experienced criminal defense lawyer and a former Texas judge and I represent clients accused of misdemeanor and felony crimes in Harris County, Texas and Ft Bend County, Texas. If a family member or a loved one has been arrested and is in custody, you probably want to get them out of jail. The accused usually wants to get out jail for obvious reasons. However, by being free, the accused is in a much better position to fight their charges. When someone is arrested, the Court generally has two choices in cases where bail is an option. It can release the accused on his or her own recognizance (a personal recognizance bond or PR Bond), or it can require the posting of bail. In some cases where the bond amount is too high, we are successful in persuading the Court to lower the amount of the bond. Call me at the office at (281) 277-1500 or on my cell at (281) 265-1515 for a free phone consultation I can explain the bail bonds process and discuss how I may be able to help. How do you get someone out of jail in Houston, Harris County or Ft Bend County, Texas? In most situations, the quickest way to get someone out of jail is by posting his or her bail. This can be done in two ways. You can always post the entire amount of the bond in cash yourself, but be advised that the County keeps a small administrative fee and that it may take awhile to get your money back from the County after your case is resolved. If the accused person fails to show up in court, you will lose all of your bail money. The second, and most common way of making bail, is to use a professional bondsman. The bondsman has entered an agreement with the County whereby he guarantees the appearance of the accused at all future court dates. The bondsman charges a fee for his services. Over the years, my clients have used all of the local bondsman with few problems. In Harris County, I recommend John Burns with Burns Bail Bonds located in downtown Houston at 609 Houston Avenue, Houston, Texas. Don't forget to bring your current Texas Drivers License or Identification Card. Burns Bail Bonds accepts checks, cash, and all major credit cards. Burns Bail Bonds In Fort Bend County, I recommend Bill Benton at ABC Bonding. Bill and his staff have always taken great care of my clients, and he offers a discount to my clients for the bails bonds he provides to them. ABC Bonding Company ABC Bonding is located right across the street from the jail at 1612 Ransom Road.
